F. Breton brevete violins were produced by several firms in France. They were imitations of the instruments by Francois Breton (1778-1830). This violin was purchased in Europe by an American GI during WWII. He brought it back to New York and enjoyed playing it for many years. Tone leans slightly to the bright side, with good volume and projection. One piece back measures 360 mm.
